The new website is now up and running.
Please take a moment to go through my 3D gallery and Artwork gallery. View my demo reel and various character turnarounds in the Video tab. I'm currently constructing new characters as well as a new demo reel. I'll be uploading screenshots of my new work in the WIP section. So check back often for updated content.

Born on the 14th of December, 1987, BC native Scott Phillips has always made art the focus of his passions. Scott’s natural orientation towards the arts was clear at an early age. His sketches and drawings litter his household, as if they marked his history as a budding artist. Scott’s talents carried over into his high school years, where he began exploring his interests in specialized courses such as Drafting and Design. Through these courses, he was exposed to software programs such as Cinema 4D, Softimage XSI, and Toon Boom Studio. It was also through these courses where Scott discovered his outlet into the world of 3D modeling.

Immediately after his high school graduation, Scott knew he wanted to incorporate his life-long, artistic interests into his career path. He successfully enrolled in the Digital Animation Program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), and earned a Management Certificate with Honours. At BCIT, Scott honed his skills and became equipped with the experience in operating advanced, industry-relevant tools such as Maya, Z-Brush and Photoshop. His time at BCIT was both challenging and rewarding. While these experiences were at often times stressful, they also equipped him with the technical skillsets through which he was able to express his unique, artistic stylings in applied, concrete ways.

Currently, Scott is updating and reconstructing his portfolio. His ultimate career goal in the CG industry is to become a Character Artist. Specifically, he aspires to be in the frontline, from concept sketches to fully completed models that are animation ready. While Scott is skilled with all forms of modeling such as environments and props, it is a personal mission of his to create characters that are unique, visually impactful, and memorable. He is inspired and motivated from a variety of sources – from music to movies, from video games to the works of other artists. Scott’s ability to strive for originality and push the envelope of character design is a never-ending quest that drives both his professional and personal life. It is his thirst for constant progress in his artwork that continuously reasserts his passion and belonging in the world of computer graphics.
